Dr. Sarah Swasey is a licensed school psychologist who provides comprehensive psychoeducational and neurodevelopmental evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. She has extensive experience evaluating ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disorders and dyslexia, executive functioning difficulties, anxiety, depression, and a range of academic, behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns.
Dr. Swasey believes that a meaningful evaluation should do more than identify areas of difficulty—it should help families understand how an individual learns, thinks, and experiences the world. Her approach is thoughtful, individualized, and strengths-based, with an emphasis on making the evaluation process understandable and useful for families. She strives to provide clear explanations and practical recommendations that can be carried into everyday life at home, at school, and in the community. She values collaboration with parents, educators, and other professionals so that recommendations are realistic, supportive, and responsive to each individual’s needs.
Dr. Swasey earned her Doctorate in School Psychology from Argosy University. She began her career as a classroom teacher, an experience that continues to shape her perspective as a school psychologist. Her years in education gave her firsthand insight into the challenges students, families, and teachers face when a child is struggling academically, behaviorally, or emotionally.
She later worked as a school psychologist in Sarasota County public and charter schools, where she provided psychoeducational evaluations and supported students receiving interventions through Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). She also led a team of mental health professionals serving students with a wide range of academic, emotional, and behavioral needs. These experiences have given her a strong understanding of how assessment, intervention, and collaboration can come together to help students succeed.
Dr. Swasey is an active member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP). She also proudly serves as Board Chair for The Florida Center for Early Childhood.
