Support Foster Children by Filling a Backpack

Katz Counseling and Educational Psychology is proud to announce the continuation of Holiday Hope Cases, a holiday drive to support adolescents in the foster care system. We would like to extend the invitation for the community to participate by stuffing a backpack then either mailing it to us or bringing it to the office by November 30th, 2023.

For this year’s charity, Katz Psychology invites you to focus on filling backpacks for teens, as they have the greatest needs at the moment. Some ideas for teens include gift cards to stores like Walmart and Target, games, books, cards, fidgets, and personal care items. We will happily be providing backpacks for filling to start and fill in as needed.

Last year, we successfully filled 72 bookbags with a variety of items, and were able to support Lee County’s adolscents in fostercare. Our bookbags were kept intact and given to the adolescents entering the system during the holidays. This year, we have committed to stuffing 96 bags as a practice and are hoping for an even larger turnout with the help of this wonderful community.

Please mail or deliver completed bags or items to 12641 World Plaza Lane, Bldg. 56 Fort Myers, FL 33907. Any donations will be delivered to Children’s Network of Southwest Florida (CNS) for distribution locally.

We appreciate anyone and everyone who is willing to donate their time and efforts into this cause. These children have endured more heartbreak and obstacles than any child should have to experience. They deserve to be spoiled and feel special during this holiday season. If you feel led to give in any way, we admire you and so do these children. Please contact Katz Psychology at (239) 247-1756 or with any questions or concerns. We appreciate you and your generous contributions. Thank you!
